Strella Lopez is a Junior at Singley in the Nursing Dual Credit program. Strella participates in many clubs at Singley, such as NHS, NTHS, NAHS, STUCO, and HOSA. However, she plays the role of Treasurer in HOSA, managing all the financial assets and holding the huge responsibility of monetary issues. “Maintaining this position is hard while also being committed to other clubs,” Said Strella. Apart from this, Strella takes the initiative with her core classes and has a balanced schedule to help her stay on track with her responsibilities. She claims that seeing others attend events and being able to see others enjoy activities makes her happy and makes it worth it. Although it can get overwhelming, Strella says that it is important for her to make time for herself and be able to relax.
Additionally, Strella has plans for her senior year; she wants to gain more positions in other clubs and communicate with other officers to make the flow even better. She aspires to encourage others to join these clubs to become more involved, to be social with others, and to “network” with other students. “ People can have fun while also contributing to the school.” Although Strella’s destination after high school might still seem unclear to her, she knows she wants to pursue medical school and major in Neurology. So, she will start to get her credentials straight to get a head start for college.
For Strella, she knows that things won’t turn out perfectly, but with her effort and dedication, she will be able to strive for what she wants. She hopes to be able to play an important role in health care.
